Area Business Announces Fall Workshops
Thursday Workshop: Kirtan with Special Guest DHARMASHAKTI

SEWELL, NJ (October 11, 2008) – The Natural Path Wellness Center, Gloucester County’s first yoga facility, will host Kirtan with Dharmashakti, on Thursday, October 16, 7 p.m., at the Center’s yoga studio at 191 East Union Avenue here.

Dharmashakti is an award-winning performer who leads the Kirtan—a yoga practice accompanied by inspirational music—with his own song created from sacred texts. Using nontraditional instruments—table, horns, electronics, tabla—and jazz stylings, Dharmashakti helps participants form instrumental moments for reflection, improvisation and more.

“Each season our plan is to offer new and interesting workshops to complement our popular ongoing programs and services,” said Christine Waters, certified yoga and Pilates instructor, hypnosis counselor, and director of the Natural Path Wellness Center. “The workshops help expose clients to various qualified experts who are long-time practitioners,” said Waters. “And it is to that end we welcome for the first time Dharmashakti to The Natural Path.”

Dharmashakti has performed music in venues around the world. He is a certified Yoga instructor as well as recipient of a Mabel R. Dodge Music Omi international residency fellowship, two Australian Green Awards for musical direction, and an OMA award as Outstanding Outmusician of the Year.

For the complete schedule of fall 2008 special workshops and ongoing programs, visit the Natural Path web site at www.natural-path.com. Pre-registration required for all workshops and classes.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Yoga at the Natural Path

Our yoga is an international style of yoga, brought to this country in the 1960s by Sri Swami Satchidananda, beloved Gurudev. You will find classes in South America, Asia, Europe, Australia, and Central America in countless countries practicing this classic authentic style of yoga. We strive for the results of pure yoga: building a healthy body and mind and strengthening that natural and inextricable connection of mind body and spirit. Our classes are suitable for beginners to Intermediate students. Beginners are a specialty! We teach form and function in the positions, and through the regular practice. Dozens of our students have gone on to be teachers as well. We are now offering an Iyengar Style class. This class is more interactive and the poses are held longer, with more emphasis on the standing asanas.

Hypnotherapy

There are volumes written about the effectiveness of clinical hypnosis. It has been around for thousands of years, approved by the American Medical Association (AMA) in the 1950s and recently written about in major scientific, medical, and popular publications. It is getting attention from the scientific community as more information can now be studied about the human mind and its functioning and capabilities. We learn more and more about the brain and its impact on personality and behavior. Whether you are looking for relief from grief or addiction, phobias, or perhaps the desire for more motivation, the latest news shows hypnosis to be extremely effective for making the positive changes you desire in your life.

Whatever the mind controls, hypnosis can help and your mind controls it all! Your subconscious controls even your conscious thoughts. The wonderful changes that occur are forever. You can be in charge and not let negative thinking or the past control you. Choose your counselor wisely.
